FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer flexible pricing plans designed to make lessons more affordable the more you commit. My plans range from single lessons to bundled packages, with discounts increasing as you take more lessons per month. This way, you get the best value while making real progress on your guitar journey! Feel free to reach out, and I’ll help you find the plan that works best for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new student starts lessons with me, I customize the experience based on their goals, skill level, and musical interests. Our first lesson is all about getting to know where you're at—whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced player looking to refine specific techniques. I offer 60- and 90-minute lessons, and if you don’t own a guitar yet, you’re welcome to use mine during the lesson while we figure out what instrument suits you best. I also provide guidance on buying a guitar or accessories if needed. Lessons are tailored to what you want to play—whether that’s learning your favorite songs, developing technical skills, or preparing for performances and auditions. I also offer flexible scheduling and multiple lesson plan options to fit your needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a strong academic background in music, specializing in guitar performance and commercial music. My education includes: Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music (Guitar Performance) – California State University, Los Angeles (2025) Completed as an Honors College student, with a thesis on All-Fourths guitar tuning. Associate of Arts in Music – Los Angeles City College, Herb Alpert Music Center (2022) Focused on guitar performance and commercial music. Master Certificate in Guitar – Berklee College of Music (2015) Studied guitar performance across contemporary music genres. Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching – University of Sussex, UK (2017) Specialized in advanced teaching methodologies and holistic education approaches. Beyond my formal education, I have 20 years of experience teaching guitar and have worked as an instructor at institutions like Los Angeles City College and the British Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) in Berlin. I've also mentored students as a music theory, harmony, and musicianship tutor and worked as a teaching assistant. As a performer, I’ve toured with original and cover bands across various genres, including progressive rock, jazz, and blues, and worked as a transcriber and arranger for Arena Musical in Los Angeles. My experience as both a teacher and an active musician allows me to provide students with practical, hands-on learning that goes beyond just theory.
