FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate for lessons depends on the location and the length of the lessons. Generally, I offer a discount on lessons that are at or near my home studio or are online. The longer the lesson, the lower my rate as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Assessing your starting place with music is a good first step. Have you played drums or another instrument before? Have you had any history with music in the community growing up? In a first lesson, I hope to have anyone playing a basic rock groove; and if you've already been drumming for years, we can get into some more complicated fun!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up a multi-instrumentalist, playing in rock bands, classical ensembles, jazz ensembles, and marching percussion groups. Later, I studied drumming and jazz at Manhattan School of Music, where I received my bachelor's. I've been teaching drums (as well as piano and guitar) for years both privately and at various education institutions.
