Bio:
Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Erick began his formal training in the performing arts at the age of three. At seven, he relocated to San Diego, California, where he further honed his skills in drama, voice, and dance. Through his musical theater training, he developed a passion for ballet. At 15, Erick began studying Russian-style ballet under the mentorship of Maxim Tchernychev before continuing his education at Ellison Ballet in New York City. During his time in New York, he performed in prestigious events such as the Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow gala with Ellison Ballet, part of the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP).
At 17, Erick was invited to join the Graduating Class at The Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, where he studied for one semester. He graduated from the Ellison Ballet Professional Training Program in May 2015.
Following his training, Erick danced with Tulsa Ballet before moving to Arizona, where he performed with Ballet Arizona for five seasons. Throughout his career, he has performed a wide range of classical and contemporary works, including ballets by Marius Petipa, George Balanchine, Frederick Ashton, John Cranko, Edwaard Liang, Marcello Angelini, Edward Ellison, and Ib Andersen. His contemporary repertoire includes works by Ma Cong, Alejandro Cerrudo, Nayon Iovino, Donald McKayle, Joshua L. Peugh, Justin Peck, and others.
