FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I am doing some continuing education in cat behavior, and with dogs, clicker training is one of the newest techniques I'm learning. Experts have actually trained Hyenas with clickers to press their necks against a fence for blood to be drawn without the use of any tranquilizers. It is a simple tool which used correctly can quickly teach a dog almost anything.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My whole life I've had dogs and other pets and always could find ways to teach them and bring them together peacefully and then I found an extremely frightened dog in the street who had no skills and thought every thing every other animal, person or movement was a threat. I was not going to give up on her but realized that I didn't know enough to help her so I went back to school and not only changed her life for the better but mine as well and decided that it was so rewarding that I wanted to spend the rest of my life helping others and their pets find the peace and joy of a calm and balanced pack.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Dogs or cats who will be sent to the pound without immediate behavior modification. People who want to learn to communicate better with their pets.
