FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before beginning work, I prefer to give an in-person estimate as to familiarize myself with the customer and them with me. This also gives me a chance to get an in-depth summary of the work that is to be completed and helps me to more accurately give a quote based on specific circumstance.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As stated, I was taken in as an apprentice from a young age. I was trained by one of the most successful painters in my area, starting first with the basics of prep work, timeliness, tidiness, and customer satisfaction. Within months I graduated to painting under his supervision. Over the next 3 years, I honed my abilities and my responsibility ramped up until I began working solo on jobs that I was given. 4 years later, I started my own painting business and continue to help my mentor on large jobs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 14, I started looking for work in the fast food industry, but was instead taken under the wing of a very successful paint contractor who is a friend of my family. Initially, I was hired as a “gopher” but quickly found a brush in my hands. I have worked under and alongside my mentor for the last 7 years. During this time, he has entrusted me to maintain his excellent local reputation by giving me jobs and referring clients to me.
