FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The phrase I've heard more often than not over my years as a consultant is: "It depends". After both sides have agreed to work together, we estimate the time it might take and first steps. At that point, we do ask for a retainer to begin our work. We like to lay out an actual work-plan to the needed granularity of the planned work. Then we can estimate who needs to do what, how long that might take, and what the deliverables will look like. If changes occur we communicate and require our clients to sign-off on those change orders. So, we bill using out hourly rates, tracking our work, and bill on a regular basis with fees dues upon receipt.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ideally, we'd like to be able to sit down - either at their offices or over coffee or what-not after hours and talk. We'd like to hear and listen to what our potential client has to see. Most importantly, we are trying to ensure for ourselves as well as the client that we have the experience, and can get this done properly, timely, and within reasonable budget for the value produced.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have advanced degrees in Business as well as in the Humanities. We've studied at U. of Chicago, Harvard, MIT, and Wharton. We've also spent 4 years under the tutelage of Stephen Covey; are trained in his methods as well as Rummler -Brache's process management approach. In addition to teaching we have been active in business for a combined 75+ years.
