Hired on Thumbtack

Called in to fix a water softener. They were responsive and on time. Recommended replacement without taking a look. Upon mentioning that it’s a new one, they did reset the system and re program it but I don’t think there was thorough troubleshooting. The problem of salt not being picked up the water softener hasn’t been resolved. I didn’t reach out to them again to see if they can resolve it because of lack of confidence, so I don’t know how that would’ve turned out. Perhaps they are good at new installations but I’m skeptical about recommending for repairs. Charged standard fee of 130 for about an hour.
