FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While I do have standards when it comes to pricing, I’m always open to negotiation, as I know what it’s like to run a project on a tight budget. All I ask is to take into consideration the time, special skill(s), heart, and use of/transportation of equipment that goes into most music-related projects. It demands more than most people think!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I find out what exactly it is they want from me and how I can provide it for them. If it’s lessons, we start with assessing knowledge and skill level, and expand on that with every lesson. If it’s a production, I learn as much about the project as I possibly can and execute from there. If I’m working with another artist, my goal is to get to know their artistry as well as I can and cater my work to their vision, as this makes for the best musical outcome. If I’m being hired as a performer, then I make sure to show up on time (as with any job), be professional (as with any job) and put on the best damn show I possibly can so they won’t forget it!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was classically trained in Suzuki violin from age 7-11, classically trained on guitar from age 9-16, and sang in prestigious choirs throughout high school and college. While at McNally Smith College of Music, I attended courses in music theory, audio engineering, record production, songwriting, and music business, as well as private vocal lessons and expert guitar lessons.
