I have been playing the piano since I was 2 years old, and have a genuine love for the instrument. I truly love teaching people how to enhance their lives through music. I have been teaching for over 25 years, and still LOVE my work! Imagine getting paid for what you love to do! 🙂
I teach students of all ages. I enjoy the challenge of helping children learn to enjoy playing music, when it's not their own idea. 😉 Watching them find their own satisfaction in learning, and hunger for more, lights up my world!
I am licensed through the state of Washington (see business license in photo section.) I teach private lessons either in my studio or virtually. Online lessons are taught via Facebook Messenger, video phone calls, or Whatsapp. You must have daily access to an instrument if you want to learn how to play. 😊

We just started with Brenda, but so far things are going great! She is very patient and excellent at explaining things to my son, who is always full of questions. He is really enjoying lessons and learning the piano! We would definitely recommend her to others!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am licensed through the state of Washington. Due to Thumbtack's verification process, they are unable to verify my license, as they don't have a "Piano Teacher" category. However, there is a current photo of my business license posted under photos. My monthly tuition rates are based on 4-week months. If there is a 5-week month, we sometimes use the extra week for a make-up lesson. In addition, we take 2 of those 5-week months off the top and close the studio during Christmas week and New Year's week, as that is a family time for everyone.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like prospective clients to come to my studio to have a chat, so they can get their questions answered. However with the quarantine, I will do a video call. My desire is to share my program, so they can decide if it's a good fit. 🙂
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I occasionally attend Piano Teacher Workshops in the Portland Metro Area. I also do online research to better stay acquainted with what is happening in my field.
