About

I am available starting around July 10 at my pool, or I can start sooner if you have your own pool or access to a pool. $30 for a 30 min lesson located at my pool in Lakewood, WA. Or, I can travel to your pool in Pierce County for $40 for a 30 min lesson. You can also rent my pool for a pool parties, which includes a lifeguard. $150 per hour, 20 swimmer limit. I stand out from others because I have over 21 years of experience teaching swim lessons to all ages and I genuinely want to help you or your family reach your goals. I have been teaching for over 21 and I love swimming and sharing my passion with others. I have worked as an aquatics director, lifeguard trainer, coach, managed large pools, and teams of aquatics staff. I get excited when someone wants to learn how to swim and be safe around the water. I will listen to your needs and push you or your child's needs to what you are comfortable with. I keep open communication at all times and give and take feedback openly while encouraging you along your journey. What I truly enjoy about my job is helping someone learn a skill they did not know before. I enjoy sharing my passion with others, and love the excitement that comes across someone's face when they learn a new skill or meet a goal they had set for themselves. Swimming and water exercise is such a valuable life skill to have. Opening soon in June and will run through end of Sept.

My daughter has had private lessons with Angela since September 2014. When my daughter was 2 she was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, an umbrella disorder of Autism, making activities like swimming extremely difficult because my daughter would get overwhelmed and overstimulated. Angela has been nothing short of a miracle worker in teaching my daughter not only to swim and the importance of water safety but to LOVE swimming. I have watched my daughter go from not wanting to get in the pool to swimming by herself, treading water for 2 minutes and more, floating solo and much more. My daughters confidence has sky rocketed and that is in part to Angela's patience, perseverance,commitment and expertise.

Angela is very professional and can keep squirrelly little kids on task! They are thrilled to learn to swim! Angela introduces multiple swimming skills in a short period of time. She keeps things interesting for the kids, but is also teaching them swimming skills that they will use for a lifetime. She is awesome!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices vary, depending on length of time 30-60 min, if we are swimming in Pierce County or I am traveling outside of the city to you and amount of students in the lesson.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I speak with them over the phone and get some background information on any past swimming experience, goals for the class, and go over any questions and concerns. Then set up a location and schedule. One the first day of class I will evaluate the swimmer on skills and ability and create my lesson plans around the swimmers goals and needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently certified as a YMCA of USA Swim Instructor, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, and as an American Red Cross Lifeguard. I have also received dozens of Aquatics related certifications over the last 19 years which included at a Trainer level.
