My 10 years of experience working as a teacher for grades k-12 paired with my passion for photography have helped me develop a great method for working with kids of all ages. I take great pride in my photography, and I produce fantastic photographs. All of my sessions include high-resolution digital files (with printing rights) because I understand that with the digital age, many families are looking to have the files in their hands. I love that I get to meet new families on a regular basis, and I get such a kick out of photographing kiddos. I definitely get to "play" during my sessions, and I just love it.

Melissa is an excellent photographer! Our photos were amazing, and she got the kids to smile in a very natural way, without cheeze or posing. I have large canvas prints of her photos in our front hallway, and love them.

Outstanding is not a strong enough description... Melissa was absolutely amazing & accommodating! I am a difficult consumer with not a lot of patience and let me tell you; every request I made, Melissa handled with the utmost urgency. Without a doubt I will call on her again in my dealings. Trust me when I say this as I do not post much... Melissa is worth every penny & then some! I completely appreciate what she did & the quality of work she provided. FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. I meet regularly with other professional photographers to discuss best practices, etc. I am constantly adding to my skill set.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have loved photography since taking a b&w photography course in High School. I turned my bathroom into a darkroom and developed my own negatives and prints. I went on to become a science teacher for a K-12th grade alternative school, where I spent 10 years LOVING my job. I had kids of my own, and decided to be a stay-at-home mom. Through taking photos of my own children, I rediscovered my passion for photography. I have since opened a studio, and had great success as a professional photographer!
What types of customers have you worked with?
My "typical" session is in studio, with kiddos. I also meet families at local parks for outdoor shoots. I also regularly do real estate photography, where I photograph a house for sale.
