Northwest Flooring LLC did a fantastic job refinishing my hardwood floor!
A few years ago, I started searching for contractors to refinish my ¾” hardwood floor, about 510 square feet of 20-year-old, 2½” wide birch with beveled edges and a shiny, factory-applied Swedish finish, both of which I wanted removed. Several contractors provided estimates. Some said it would be very costly to sand down past the bevel channels. Others said it was impossible to refinish and that I should simply replace it, which was not an option for us.
Only 2 of the 9 contractors I spoke with seemed to actually want the job. One was 50% higher than the other. Based on that and their nothing-but-5-star ratings, I ended up hiring Vlad Prokhor at Northwest Flooring LLC. He was not the least bit fazed by the amount of work it would take to remove the toxic finish and dirt-collecting bevels and promised to provide the look and finish we wanted. And best of all, his pricing was extremely competitive.
His crew arrived at 8:30 Monday morning and worked tirelessly all day. They marked and removed the baseboard shoe trim, fixed a hole where the fridge was, and hung plastic sheeting for dust control. They sanded first with a large belt sander, then with a smaller handheld device for thresholds, and finally by hand in corners, under toe kicks, and other difficult-to-reach spots. They swept up the dust and debris, buffed the rough finish until it was very smooth, then applied two clear coats, which needed 2 days to dry. The crew left around 6 pm. Vlad and another crew member returned Wednesday morning to buff it out again and apply another clear coat. All in all, Vlad and his entire crew were very professional and did an outstanding job!
The floor looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The natural color is stunning, and the matte finish with a very slight sheen is beautifully contemporary! It turned out so much better than we anticipated. My husband, who’s extremely hard to impress, is still gushing over how fantastic the floor looks and what a great job they did. I have nothing negative to say about Vlad, his crew, and Northwest Flooring LLC. I’m so happy and relieved to have found and hired them!

Northwest Flooring was fantastic to work with and respectful of the property. They showed up promptly for a free and fair quote and were able to start the work within the desired time period. I couldn't be happier with the results.
I originally had black painted pine wood stairs that I wanted to get refinished or replaced. I hired another contractor initially and they didn't recommend I get new oak treads; instead just poorly staining the existing pine after sanding it down.
Northwest came in and knew what wood to recommend along with the proper stain to match the rest of the hardwood floors in my house. I loved that I could just sit back and trust them to deliver. I also appreciated that they stained the wood prior to coming in so that I could immediately use my stairs and my house didn't smell of oil.
I'd highly recommend working with them!

Vlad and his crew did an exceptional job installing new hardwood floors in my kitchen after a water leak. They refinished all of the floors in my house and the result is incredible! Vlad is a true professional. They took great care to mitigate dust and he was a fantastic communicator. If you need new flooring installed or wood floors refinished, you can’t go wrong. I am so happy with the impeccable work from Northwest Flooring. They removed existing carpet and laminate, and they installed solid hardwood throughout my home.
