FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are the lowest I can possibly go. I believe in working on projects I enjoy, with folks I enjoy working with. That means pricing for fellow NW working people and business owners, not million-dollar media budgets. My prices are oriented around about $25/per hour of active work. I don't charge background operations like transcoding and exporting as active work. That's far less than most with my experience would charge; I want to grow my repertoire as a solo producer while working on real projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will set up a Zoom or phone call to get on the same page for your project. You need video content. Tell me why and what for, and I'll tell you how. I want to know: What does this completed project look like in your mind? What deliverables do you need? When do you need them by? How much media do you have? How much do you want to pay for supplementary media (stock/music/etc)?
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've worked as a news producer in both national and local news. I started my news career sourcing media for and editing a Yahoo! News podcast. I then moved to NBC News in Washington, DC, where I worked for the archives department and produced media for Nightly News, the Today Show, and many more properties. This was during a newsy time - I worked on 2 impeachments, an attack on the Capitol, and a global pandemic. I then moved briefly to Fox13 News in Seattle as a Morning Show Producer. I resigned due to disagreements with their method of local coverage. I've since become a small business owner and freelancer, and am producing a documentary on the local music scene.
