Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction
Teaching self-defense is 100% of what we do and we are continually evolving what and how we teach. Please note- for group training sessions I can travel to you in Seattle and the surrounding areas; for private lessons, I live in Tacoma, so training would need to be in that area or close by. What I enjoy most about teaching self-defense is seeing someone who was initially uneasy and self-conscious become a more confident, at-ease person. What we teach transcends just self-defense and physical training. We will give you fear management skills and confidence that can help you walk taller and feel better about yourself in every aspect of your life. Seeing the responses in people when what we say or teach really resonates with a person is what makes this job the most rewarding. *Please note- for corporate seminars I can travel anywhere for the training, for small/group private training I live in Tacoma, WA so adjustments might need to be made regarding quote ***I don't check this frequently so you might want to contact me directly.*** Pricing for individuals coming to me for private lessons: 1 person: $180/2-hour session 2 persons:$240/2-hour session 3 persons: $300/2-hour session 4 persons: $360/2-hour session After the intro session lessons are $80/hr for a single person.

We had a group of 5 in our private session with Evan. We all had a great time and learned a lot! I feel much more confident that I have some skills to deal with a bad situation and protect myself and my kids if I should need to do so. I plan on having a session for my son and his friends as well.

In October, 2015, I attended the NoVa Self Defense Fundamentals I course. The course was four sessions over two weeks and totaled about 5.5 hours of training. I attended with the goal of revisiting the fundamentals as I've been at the self-defense game for many years. In short, this was an excellent course and I'd highly recommend it for anyone but especially those with little or no prior knowledge or training. The thing that struck me most about Evan is that he's designed the course to be more than just your standard "punch-kick, he does this-you do that." Sure, you'll learn effective physical techniques, but you'll also spend time learning how to think and avoid a fight as well. For example, you'll cover things such as verbal skills and how a threat might size you up before the attack. All in all, an excellent intro course. Highly recommended.

Wonderful lesson. My sister and I came to DC for an Internship and exploring the East Coast. Evan's Self-Defense class prepared us for many different styles of assaults. The class left us with many questions answered and a confidence to defend ourselves. I would recommend anyone to take this class if they are looking for a structured base on defense in many areas. Were as other self-defense classes may only cover certain aspects of defense and take a long time to learn, Evan researches and takes ideas from all kinds of defense classes and videos to create a well structured base to defend yourself. Evan was always early and prepared for the class, answering every question we asked and showed us great examples. The class is worth it!

I just completed a class with NOVA Self Defense and had a great experience working with them. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and had a way of explaining techniques that made it easy to understand. I walked away with a solid understanding of not only how to avoid dangerous encounters, but also how to handle myself if I am attacked. I would (and already have) recommend taking their courses. Evan came to SSSAS to work with my 12th grade students last week. I teach Contemporary Issues in Health & Sexuality. I have wanted to have a self defense instructor teach my students how to be loud and aggressive when necessary as well as develop situational awareness for risk reduction and protection. Evan did a phenomenal job with my seniors! They all seemed to feel comfortable participating and had very positive things to say about the session afterward. One student remarked, "I think all students should be taught these skills." I hope Evan can work with SSSAS for years to come and I'm looking forward to our next session together.
