FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Print Cost: Should the job require me to print more than 40 pages I will require an additional $5 for every 30 pages (beyond the first 40, rounding up). This is affected by the need to mail posted notices. The base prices are by zip code as the further the trip the more time and gas used and the less convenient it is to plan a multi stop route. The number of attempts from 1 to 3 does not affect the cost, nor does mailing beyond the potential print cost. $55 for 98177 & 98133 *Until February 16th 2024 this is reduced to $40* $60 Zip Codes: *Until February 16th 2024 this is reduced to $50* 98020, 98036, 98046, 98043, 98021, 98155, 98125, 98115, 98117, 98028, 98026 (south of Olympic View Dr.) $70 Zip Codes: *Until February 16th 2024 this is reduced to $60* 98037, 98206, 98087, 98204, 98082, 98012, 98021, 98072, 98011, 98033, 98034, 98105, 98195, 98102, 98103, 98109, 98112, 98107, 98119, 98199, 98121, 98101, 98104, 98122, 98026 (north of Olympic View Dr.) $85 Zip Codes: *Until February 16th 2024 this is reduced to $70* 98134, 98144, 98108, 98118, 98040, 98004, 98005, 98039, 98006, 98007, 98008, 98052, 98275, 98203, 98213, 98208, 98207, 98201, 98296 $100 Zip Codes: 98271, 98270, 98258, 98290, 98272, 98293, 98294, 98077, 98053, 98019, 98014, 98074, 98075, 98029, 98024, 98027, 98065, 98059, 98056, 98057, 98178, 98106, 98116, 98126, 98136, 98146, 98168 Urgent/Priority Job: For $60 & under jobs it's an added $10. For $70-85 jobs it's an added $15. For $100+ jobs it's an added $20. This is by the base cost, not any total after applying other charges or discounts. With this; You will be placed at the top of my queue and will guarantee that all three attempts occur within four days (weekend included in this instance) of confirmation. On request for urgent delivery I will let you know if this charge is actually necessary within my schedule or conversely should it occur that I simply cannot take an urgent request at that time. Generally any form of job that is non-standard & rigid in specific requirements (such as to require specific hour slots for attempts beyond just morning, afternoon, evening) applies the same degree of added cost. On-The-Way Discount: When ordering multiple jobs; a closer on-route job can be discounted between $5 and $20 depending on the convenience. This however cannot apply with jobs needing any kind of priority/non-standard cost. Guaranteed-Single-Trip Discount: $10 discount in the case of serving only a notice that can be posted on the first visit with a guarantee of no second attempt. Note that this DOES NOT entitle you to pay less for any other job that happens to be completed on the first attempt. In the case that both discounts can apply to a job, the maximum available total discount is $20.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Check my timeline & pricing/service-area compared with your request to make sure you find it acceptable before contacting. Though there is perhaps some (limited) flexibility to the listing. Once contacted I should ideally give an initial response within 24 hours (of business days). Then we can assure that we agree on proceeding with the job. The punctuality of order fulfillment is largely dependent on my amount of jobs and my personal schedule and some weeks may just not be as workable as others. Generally the ideal is that the first service attempt happen within 2-4 days of confirming the job. But the potential wait time could be up to 2 weeks. There is an urgent/priority price add-on available and if you ask for it I will let you know if it is unnecessary. The morning, afternoon, evening attempts happen in no particular order and should occur across no more than three business days and no less than two. The uncertainties of my timeline are likely to become less broad and more consistent as my familiarity with full time process serving increases.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
On-the-job experience. My uncle who is a lawyer ran me through the process of serving papers and that went very well. It came rather naturally and after that it became clear I was ready to register and start doing it professionally. Additionally I have done a minor degree of soliciting work. And even a degree of training for knocking on doors and dealing with people for proselytizing purposes as well. Learning this particular work through serving evictions prior to professional practice also involved minor missteps that I now know to avoid. Which is to say that failure is the best teacher there is and you are hiring someone who's already earned his degree.
