Melanie is a highly experienced designer and advisor and if you work with her, she will create scope documents that capture use of sustainable materials, architectural systems, and design documents for budget pricing that helps you make cost/benefit decisions. If needed, Melanie will work with a freelance CAD drafter to prepare drawings for construction. Permit level documents are generally needed for structural work, additions, or new builds.

Melanie founded and ran a large firm - Dynamikspace for 20 years. She decided to close and focus on small boutique projects and clients looking to minimize their carbon footprint with thoughtful planning and sustainable design. Mixtup Studio focuses on modern residential projects or commercial interiors, as well as development consulting and land use feasibility.
Melanie is available to consult on your project including: sustainability home review and recommendations, maximizing your floorplan so you don't have to add more square footage, home purchase and/or sale review for upgrade impacts on value, contractor selection. Design recommendations include: paint colors, lighting and materials, kitchens, bathrooms, home office, or ADU/DADU or other special uses.
Because of Melanie's extensive knowledge and ability to provide actionable information, the initial 30-minute consult conference call is asked to be paid upfront (a link to pay and schedule will be sent to you). This meeting will assess your ideas and project requirements. It will include a discussion of solutions and the next steps that you can integrate into your project budget and schedule to move your project forward. This initial consult will be 1/2 hour and charged at $125.
