Introduction
I'm deeply passionate about learning and see myself as a lifelong student of music. Teaching is integral to my musical identity, allowing me to gain a profound understanding of effective practice through my ongoing work with students. Exploring the journey of skill improvement is a lifelong fascination, and I consider it a privilege to assist individuals in enhancing their musical connection through dedicated practice. I studied at Berklee College of Music before moving to Austin, Texas where I completed my undergraduate studied at UT Austin, earning a B.M. in Jazz Performance. During my time in Austin, I performed 150-200 dates a year in a number of different styles and ensembles. In 2017, I began teaching at Colorado Academy in Denver Colorado where I developed a guitar program from the ground up. During my tenure there, I taught well over 100 students, some of whom have gone on to pursue careers in music. In 2022 I released my first album as a leader titled "Human Resource" which is available on all streaming platforms. Most recently, I completed my masters in Jazz and Improvised music at the University of Washington where I also served as a teaching assistant in Jazz History.

I could really connect with him when it comes to the way we think. Im usually a nerd when it comes to doing something. So learning from a professional who can go into details and throw in some references when explaining makes it interesting and clear for me

Free consultation got us aligned and started on the right foot. 1st lesson was on task and flexible. Andrew knows music and is able to connect concepts from many angles. He was careful to understand what I already knew and push for expanding where I had blanks.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I offer 30 minute lessons for $50, 45 minutes for $60 and 60 minute lessons for $75.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I'm constantly taking notes on the things that I'm listening to and practicing. I also keep detailed notes on my students for the sake of their own progress and other future students.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I take my job very seriously and expect my students to put in a daily effort outside of the lesson time. Clients should not seek to enroll in lessons unless they are ready to put in at least 10-20 minutes of practice per day.
