- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My educational background is in Hydrology and Environmental Sciences. I am currently studying to become a Certified Professional Horticulturalist for the state of Washington.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I earned a BS in Hydrology in 2014 and worked in Stormwater Research. Much of my day to day involved caring for our water filtering systems, which used a variety of plants, soil, and rock. In 2016, I began a new chapter by starting a job at a native plant nursery which also had a gardening division. I worked out in client gardens as well as at the nursery, specializing in our Stormwater plants. In 2018, I moved to California and spent almost a year working for a native and medicinal plant nursery, offering my services as a Stormwater and rehabilitation plant specialist. Since moving to Seattle in 2019, I’ve done a variety of organic garden maintenance and installation work. With my ample experience, I recently decided to start my own company in the hopes that I can offer sustainable and organic garden maintainance, design, and installation for people in the Seattle area who are interested in natives, pollinators, and edible flowers.
