FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I transitioned into the electrical trade after realizing I was ready for a change from physically demanding jobs like framing houses and warehouse work. The hard work in those fields provided me a solid foundation in hands-on skills, understanding construction, and working with tools, which are directly transferable to the electrical trade. After putting in time in those tougher, labor-intensive roles, I decided to explore a career that offered more stability, better pay, or a clearer growth path. The electrical trade, with its combination of technical expertise, problem-solving, and hands-on work, appealed to me as a natural next step.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One electric project I am proud of is successfully designing and installing an efficient home lighting system. In a short time, I was able to switch out outdated fixtures for energy-saving LED lights, integrate smart lighting controls, and ensure everything was wired correctly for both safety and performance. With a focus on energy efficiency, I was able to complete the job quickly, saving the customer money on electricity bills while improving the overall ambiance of their home. The project not only highlighted my skills in electrical work but also an ability to manage time efficiently and adapt to new technologies.
