I've been playing in bands professionally all my adult life and over this time I have played just about all kinds of music. I decided that if I was going to have my own band that it was going to be top notch all the way because the main thing is for us and the clients to have a blast. In this band we focus a lot on the Classic R&B dance music as sung by our world class female vocalist. But our backgrounds are broad enough that we play just about everything. We also play a lot of classic rock in the band and with a little different line-up we also play a lot of jazz gigs. And in addition to that, my background and circle of professional friends makes it so that I can provide first class music to fit just about any situation.
I enjoy working with a tight band full of phenomenal players and the reaction of the crowd when they get up and dance or go nuts because they didn't expect it. I like it when clients tell me that we made their wedding or event something really special. Having a great band like this has given us great opportunities. Some of the places we played are: The Space Needle, The Salish Lodge, The Sculpture Park, The Seattle Aquarium, and we are regulars at the 13 Coins and the Edgewater Hotel.

They literally made the party and everyone talked about how awesome the band was. Great musicians, great people, flexible and fun. Would recommend them in a heartbeat and will definitely hire them for my next party (whenever that will be)

Ed Mays Groove Kitchen Band was the best. Our guests loved the music... and were up dancing to every song. Ed didn't know the song that I asked them to play for our first dance, but they looked it up... and yes... they played it for us... and yes... it was beautiful. I would recommend this band if you want your guests to have a good time. This was a party for our 50th Anniversary .... and Ed helped to make it very special. Thank you Ed and your band. Ed Mays Groove Kitchen’s music is full of jazzy delta blues, pop, rock and funk as well, for a sound that is timeless yet modern in it's own way. It’s kind of like stepping back in time, but with the keys to the Porche. This group - is undeniably charming, and undeniably entertaining. Not to mention pretty darn talented.
