I emphasize guiding students toward the answer rather than doing problems for them. I want my students to feel confident and empowered so that they quickly become autonomous in their journey toward discovering their "inner math genius". I learned this firsthand as a high school student. The tutors who guided me towards the right answer rather than doing all the work were instrumental in my success in mathematics in high school and continued success in college.
