FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $55 for an individual, private lesson. I also sell packages of four private lessons for $200. For more detailed information about pricing, and pricing on other services such as horse training or show coaching, please visit my website.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With any new student (both two and four-legged), I begin by assessing their skill set and base of knowledge, and what their goals are. Once these are established, I work to create a plan to help them reach their goals as efficiently and correctly as possible. I will never sacrifice the safety of the rider, or the well being of the horse, in order to reach a goal sooner. As a teacher and trainer, my goal is to create a happy, healthy, sustainable relationship between horse and rider.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have made my equestrian education a priority, and have been lucky enough to work with some of the most talented trainers and coaches in the country. I spent ten years working with internationally successful eventing and dressage trainer, Melissa Beardsley. I have also been fortunate enough to ride with John Camlin of Caber Farms, World Equestrian Games and and Olympic course developer Derek Di Grazia, and the late dressage trainer and World Cup Dressage Championship competitor Kimberly von Hopffgarten. I'm passionate about continuing my education, and I take weekly lessons with USDF (United States Dressage Federation) gold medalist Debbie DeWitt. I am an active member of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). I have also authored articles published by the American Riding Instructors Association. Additionally, I have completed Team USA’s SafeSport Training course. SafeSport is an educational course provided by Team USA to help educate coaches and athletes on the nature of misconduct and abuse in sport, and to enable those involved in athletics to properly prevent, acknowledge, and report abuse and misconduct.
