Hazim was so extremely helpful! Hazik responded the same day and came to our home the same day. He was able let us know that our wall was not load bearing. He even went above and beyond to check in to make sure he was correct and if we needed anymore assistance. We will surely be using Hazim again for future projects as we trust him! Hazim is very kind, professional, responsive, communicative, and generous with his time. We wanted to remove a load bearing wall in our kitchen. I sent annotated pictures and was able to chat over the phone and FaceTime with Hazim for probably 20 min (I showed him things in attic and basement), and Hazim was able to give verbal feedback on scope (new beam, new posts) and cost. Other engineers I reached out to were less forthright and will not share anything until you commit first to paying them to come onsite to review. I am also inquisitive and ask lots of questions, and appreciate Hazim’s willingness to answer all of them. I think Hazim errs on the side of over engineering (which isn’t a bad thing — we don’t want the house to fail in an earthquake!); I appreciate though he was willing to revise the plans when we needed it (the post he specified would stick out proud of the wall, he re-ran the calcs and approved a smaller post so that we could have the post buried flush in the wall). Can’t over express how communicative and polite he is. There were some things we needed to iterate on and some things took time because he was busy, but it was no issue because he was communicative the whole time. Would happily work with Hazim again.
