FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing for lessons is $15 for 30 minutes, $22 for 45 minutes, and $30 for 60 minutes. I do not teach group music lessons but I would consider group ESL tutoring sessions. These group lessons would allow for a lower-per-person fee that would be dependent on the number of students, number of sessions, length of sessions, etc. My editing fees are per job. I usually charge between $20-30 an hour, depending on the length of the work to be edited and the depth of editing requested. I have a 1 day turnaround for works of 500 words or less and a 3 day turnaround for anything over 500 words. I would consider rush jobs for an extra fee, approximately $10 per 500 words.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I am starting a with a new student, our first meeting is an introductory meeting that allows us to get to know one another. I also use this time to assess the student's current level in music/english and then determine what resources need to be purchased (if any). When I am editing, I like to have works either sent to me via email or shared with me through Microsoft Office or Google Docs. I use the track changes feature in Microsoft Word to suggest edits, then send the document back to the original author so you can decide whether or not to accept my changes.
