FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge by project, by seams, by layers. When I don't know the cost because I never worked on exact seam before, or something I never estimated before, I would charge by the hour. If only consultation is needed, or measuring, or let's say the bride decided to go with another seamstress, I still need to be paid for the time it took. Let's say if you scheduled an apointment with me expect to pay for it 40$ by the hour, as I plan and schedule every hour with different person, I will not have another customer to replace that cancelation or mind changing on alteration. So it's important to cancel 24 hours prior to apointment to avoid that fee and let another customer use that time. I don't mind and try to give free estimates via text and pictures, whenever I am in between my customers or at my son's activities. Please try your dress on prior to fitting time to be sure weather or not you need to schedule that apointment with me. Also be sure to tell me exactly what you want altered for price quote. Have clear pictures ready to text me if require. Number of layers in the dress, and any details that would help with deciding on estimation of the cost on the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every bride is my new customer. We start by texting and discussing what needs to be altered and if possible discuss price. Schaduled day and time for fitting. Usually one to two fitting. Last fitting is for pick up the dress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Family business. Learned sewing from my mom. Then graduated from Special European sewing school in Ternopil, Ukraine. Many years of sewing experience, since childhood. Sewing is all I have done all my life.
