Wow, I was surprised at how realistic he was and quickly he worked; it was start to finish about 2 weeks, which worked best with my schedule. I work long hours and he was able to coordinate with me in a timely manner, while also giving me very realistic expectations. It probably would have been faster if I had just decided what I wanted right away but he was patient with me deciding between price of local supplies and colors and such. Also would have been faster if I had more time off work.
I had a bathroom that absolutely reeked of cat urine, needed an updated vanity, and new shower fixtures and there was nothing I could do about it. He let me know what to expect, told me how he would do the bathroom remodel project, and gave me a reasonable labor cost while I paid the cost of the new fixtures and paint (he had all his own other stuff). Consultation was waived at the time for a promo he had, not sure if he still offers this.
The bathroom paint, new vanity, and lights are beautiful for my relatively dark condo (not a lot of light at all), but it was really brightened. Definitely more modern, so pricing was more because I opted for mid grade stuff, and he also offered to do more painting for the rest of my condo since I had a lot of leftover paint. He offered safe asbestos removal as well (he said he had his own protective gear) but I wanted to hold off on it. So far I appreciated the care he put into making sure paint and such was not going to splatter on my other areas so he taped everything off well.
He also informed me of problems related to my plumbing right away so I could decide how I wanted it fixed and what to expect for cost.
I’d have him do my windows too but I don’t think he is offering that service yet. Very professional. Competitive pricing for my area and definitely will use again for my other investment properties and my own home.

I was very pleased with all aspects of my experience hiring Alan for a small job - reinforcing an attic ladder. He responded promptly to the Thumbtack message; clearly communicated by message and in-person. He was able to schedule the job quickly and reached when he had an opening in his schedule to see if he could come complete the job sooner. He is very respectful and professional, wore a mask and taking off shoes upon entry, without us having to ask. He even sent a lovely “Thank You” card to US shortly after the job was complete, which is a nice personal touch. I’ve already recommended him to someone on NextDoor, and wouldn’t hesitate to hire Alan for any future projects that are in his wheelhouse! Thank you, Alan for your help!

Alan was quick to respond, arrived as scheduled, and assisted me with a number of projects I’d been putting off - installation of a new smartlock, security system, a ceiling fan, a dog door, and a new light fixture.
He even picked up supplies to complete a couple of the projects. Plus, he was a nice person. Great choice for all kinds of projects!
