I believe that music is vitally important to your event, it is a major factor in making it a success. Whether it be a wedding, reunion, company function, backyard barbecue or any kind of private party, my goal is to create the right mood and ambiance for your celebration to be memorable! What a wonderful time had by all for our holiday team party in Lake Placid while we were there for a hockey tournament! I found them just by googling DJs in the area and Im so happy I found them! John and Mike did a fantastic job keeping both kids and adults entertained the whole night with games and a ton of dancing and singing along to amazing songs! John was amazing from the beginning with communication and reassurance being we were so far away! If I could give them 10 stars I would! We will definitely be using them next year!

John J Entertainment DJd our wedding recently on 9/28/24 in Stowe, VT. The rate that we paid was very affordable. They were extremely communicative since the day that we chose them, and they encouraged us to make our wedding truly ours by choosing songs that meant the world to us, even if it was nontraditional. With my lack of experience planning a wedding, their custom planner made the process of understanding it all so much easier. The music they played tailored to every generation present with a great mix of current and old tunes. We had a small wedding of 50 guests, but John managed to get most of them to tear up the dance floor! They also included certain games to play throughout the reception, my favorite being a game where we had to get a picture with all of our guests from each table in the span of one song. And rather than my husband and I having to sprint to each table and get awkward poses around everyone, they set up chairs in the middle of the area for us to sit in, and our guests had to sprint to us. This created nice-looking group photos for our photographer to capture. This game made my anxiety about getting pictures with all of my guests go away!In short, if you are looking for a DJ for your Vermont wedding, you have found it right here. We promise- John and Mike will not let you down! So hop on it before someone else does!

I hired John for my birthday party. From the start, he made sure that he had the songs that I wanted-even the ones that were not usually played at functions. The communication prior to the party was great. He was at the hall and all set up before I even got there. Tables needed to be moved to create a dance floor which he took care of. He kept the music going with a variety of music that we all loved. He didn't mind the requests from my guests for country, swing, salsa, waltzes, and even the Hora. EVERYONE had a great time. Even our bartender asked about him and said that they may hire him for other functions they have there. I am sorry that this site only allows three options because if I could, I would also include the other two-Value, & Punctuality. If I ever am in need of a dj again, I would hire John again in a heartbeat. Thank you, John for making my party wonderful!

John was so warm and agreeable (as was his son). He is extremely responsive and was able to accommodate a significant change in our ceremony technology (officiant got covid 2 days before wedding so we asked him to set up a system to project the audio/video of a recorded speech). At the reception, his suggested games went over great and a few people at the wedding asked for the playlist. It was also really nice because he didn't talk much - just let people dance and played the whole song (no awkward annoying mash ups or jarring song changes). If you are looking for a straight-forward, easy to work with dj, he is the guy.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our all inclusive price includes: SIX HOURS of ceremony and music, free lighting, free second sound system for ceremony use at an arbor/gazebo, no mileage charge, three wireless microphones! At the ceremony, everyone hears the officiant and the wedding couple. I also offer up to $200 in discounts (See below). In addition, I have THREE hours of backup power, so the party can continue, if the lights go out! Currently, our MAXIMUM wedding price for 6 hours is: $1,950. We have 7 discounts which can reduce the price to $1,750 Our price for non-weddings is flexible -- please call -- but the average is about $125 - $150 per hour depending on several factors and discounts. Discounts Available (up to $200 total) Charity events: $100-$200 Military or first responder: $50 Other discounts for party size, location, venue, milestone celebrations, intimate party size (
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) An initial phone call to collect information about the venue, event, music desired and potential additional equipment (Karaoke, dry ice) and other associated events (rehearsal dinner, post party, etc) I DO NOT use a cookie-cutter thumb drive from someone else's wedding. You are unique, your tastes are unique, your wedding should be unique. 2) I then assemble various playlists for cocktail, dinner, and dance hours and schedule a follow-up meeting. I prefer this follow-up to be face-to-face but it can be done by phone. When face-to-face we can have fun sampling the playlists and adjust the amount of music style (country, oldies, power 80s, hip/hop, dance, pop, etc). 3) If at a venue, I schedule a walk-thru so I can ensure I will have any necessary equipment to fit within the stage, etc and that they allow such equipment as a dry ice machine. I have 3 sizes of equipment, ensuring the appropriate size for the venue
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been performing wedding and event DJ services for over 20 years. I have hosted events at GE and IBM as well as dozens of weddings, parties and reunions. I hosted a radio show for four years in high school and college and have done commercials for radio.
