Typically do a total walk around the project with the customer .Listen to customer needs and expectations then come to terms of choices and options.

I have worked with guys thats been in the cleaning industry for atleast 5 or more years and have soaked up all knowledge and still learning everyday every job isn't the same no matter how similar they look.
