FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The first thing I want to say is to remember that cheap work is never good and good work is never cheap! My prices are simple. I either price by job or individual task. When I don’t know how long something will take to finish for example trouble shooting some electrical issue. This type of work I charge by the hour. I will have all my prices on my thumbtack profile soon as I continue to update it.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. We schedule a time and date to meet. 2. They show me the work needed to be done. I takes notes, pictures etc. and I give them an estimate. 3. They decide if they want to go with me or not. 4. If they choose me, we decide a start date. 5. Sign a contract. 6. I start working and finish within the said time of completion 7. Customer follows through with the payment
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After graduating high school, my father gave me three choices. He told me I can either go to college, join the military or I can come to work with him in construction. I decided to work with him and it was the best decision! I started working in commercial and government buildings as a laborer at the age of 18 and slowly worked my way up. After 8 years I honed my skills in metal framing, hanging sheet rock, install ceiling grid/tiles. On the weekends he had side jobs where we would remodel houses. We would install tile, wood/laminate floors, interior doors, wood framing, hang sheet rock, finish, sand and paint. In 2017 I decided to change fields and started doing electrical work and going to school. I still have much more to learn and will continue to do so!
