Introduction

Do you want to look good and have fun dancing? Do you have zero experience dancing with your partner? And of course you don't want embarrass yourself, or spend lots of time and money learning to dance? Then I'm your man. Dance is all about connecting to your partner and to the music. The problem: dance isn't taught that way. Instead, most instructors force you into repetitive footwork and styles before you understand the WHY behind what you're doing. After suffering through years of studio lessons, I developed a teaching method that helps couples discover the power of connection in movement and music. It's done in the comfort of your own home - so no more intimidating other couples - and without the added costs required by a studio. I bring a speaker, a whiteboard, and we jump right in - with an inventively fun, surprisingly simple, and nicely affordable way. This is a huge passion for me, and here's why: the magic "click" moment. It happens with every couple I teach - when they stop thinking and start creating something beautiful together. Skill level and age never matter - this always happens, and is a huge motivator for me to keep on doing what I do.

We hired Josh to help us with our wedding dance - his style is amazing. My husband and I had tried to take professional dance lessons but were so uncomfortable - josh held the lessons in our home and it was wonderful. We had one on one time with him and he even stayed longer than the one hour time to help us with areas we weren't grasping. I highly recommend him - you will be much more comfortable dancing with your partner after he is through with you!

Let me start this review by explaining that before meeting with Josh, I had no experience in dancing and my husband had no interest in dancing. However, compelled to not look foolish on the dance floor and wanting to have fun at our wedding, we looked for a dance instructor. From the very first communication, Josh was very professional and flexible with us! In only three lessons, he was able to take my husband and I from zero-skills in dancing to a level of confidence in putting together our first dance and have a LOT of fun dancing at our wedding, from first dance to last dance. His philosophy and manner of teaching helped us develop a deeper connection on the dance floor and understand better what makes dancing partners look good! He taught us the steps and tools needed to have fun dancing at our own wedding and to pull together a whole first dance. Because Josh was able to meet us wherever we were located, it definitely made the process a lot easier and convenient for us. What he promises is absolutely delivered: it was FUN, definitely simple (I am still in awe), and the pricing is UNBEATABLE. After three lessons, we learned the basic skills to dance together, a range of moves for wow-factor, and how to put together a dance! We will definitely be able to remember everything he taught us for a long time to come! Overall, Josh did an OUTSTANDING job and went over and beyond what we expected. Joshua is amazing! We scheduled three lessons to get ready for our wedding dance - nothing choreographed, just making sure we don't step on each other's feet - and my fiance and I are VERY confident in our dance skills now. Joshua is a great teacher and really understands what you want out of the lessons.

Not just great for learning to dance but great for learning to be a better together! Josh was amazing. He is creative, innovative and dedicated. He has a deliberate system that ensures both partners are on the same page, communicating well and learning how to be a leader or a follower. He first brought us back to the fundementals and then worked on sparking our ability to have “drama” and “suspense” in dance. Next session, he will be working on our foot work - the groove. Can’t wait!! We love Josh!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'll make this simple. Three lessons, and you're set to look good and have fun dancing together, for the rest of your life. To all kinds of music. We can do more lessons on request of course, but that's what I find works best for most couples. I do standalone lessons at $120 a pop, and the three-lesson package for a discounted $300 even.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Fourteen years of dance instruction experience - started this business then, and have been improving the curriculum ever since!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
In high school, a girl asked me out to get ballroom dance lessons. While the girl and I didn't work out, I fell in love with dance, and immediately poured myself into learning to dance.
