Introduction
I have been studying violin for over 20 years, and am well versed in the genres of classical, folk, pop, and jazz. My experience playing in different genres allows me to incorporate techniques in my lessons that I find are very important for a student’s musicianship. For example, learning to play by ear, practicing sight reading, and learning to improvise.
Based in Richmond, VA, I spend most of my time performing as a freelance songwriter and fiddle player. I often perform with local bands including 'Deau Eyes', 'Mackenzie Roark & The Hotpants', and 'VILLAGES'. Additionally, I work with many artists around town to record violin on their songs.
I have accumulated both a Bachelors and Masters degree from the London College of Music in Music Performance.
I offer lessons from my home in The Fan district of Richmond at 30/45/60 minute lengths.

She’s been very helpful at pointing out the specifics of what I’ve improved upon and what needs work. She’s also been resourceful with what instructional books for me to get (sometimes she’ll provide me with one to work on), and they’ve been a big help.

Learning a new instrument was something I always wanted to do, but was nervous about starting at an older age. Caroline has been incredibly patient with me as a beginner, and has been kind and motivating too! I appreciate her flexible schedule, and have enjoyed each lesson so far. I highly recommend Caroline for musicians of all ages and strengths!
