I started out in a great place with Craig . I sent him a text and email stating I had a 12x12 Yardisty Gazebo. He was on point ……sent back quote came over to do measurements. The day the gazebo was delivered , Craig showed up….. told my husband his worker may not show up , I told my husband to let Craig know if his worker don’t show please don’t start the job . This job requires more than just one worker it requires a few . He told me he had a few guys and it will take approximately 8 hrs to complete the job when he took the job . When I went outside Criag stated to me he thought this was a canvas gazebo , I said no remind you we talked about this gazebo bring anchored to my stamped expensive patio . He said well you lucky I would have charged you more but we are good . I said have you ever done this kind of gazebo before he said yes . They took 6 hours to get the legs up that day his worker was a hard worker and was doing a lot of work . I gave them water , constantly and hand towels for the heat . Craig ask me could he get half of his money , I gave it to him in cash .but initially he said I pay when the job was done .They came back the next day ….same thing his worker worked extremely hard , they begin to try to put the roof assembly together. He showed up at 1pm it called for rain at 3pm so he didn’t have much time . I even told Craig and the worker I will tip them and extra fifty a peace . It started to pour down around 4 pm so the work was still not completed. He said he will be out of town Saturday he be back Sunday , what could I say . I wanted my gazebo up . I had trusted Craig . Craig shows up Sunday he told me he be here at 12 noon Did not come until 2pm . He said he fired his worker , my husband and I told Craig he need at least three people to install the roof . He said someone else was on the way . We had plenty of company that day so we notice out the window a female was with Craig . She was directing and working hard so we all replied that’s is extra help .My brother in law went outside they asked for water , he gave them ice and water . I later go out and start a conversation with the female it’s his mother . She helped him from 2pm- 9pm
I talk to her about not being able to trust our own race because of being let down , and poor work . I told we have to show ourselves improved so we can support and trust our race . She stated how her son was a hard either and he had to fire his worker . I told her she is doing a lot and seems to know the job better than he does . She said she watches a bunch of tv shows . Craig stayed behind to finish working… his mother left . He was in the process of hanging the yardisty netting to keep the bugs out . That had to be installed On a track inside the gazebo . He was seeming to be doing a great job . So me being kind , heartfelt and feeling bad for him , having to get his mother help , went out to talk to him . I told him he has a great mother and sorry , he seem to be struggling. I paid him the 2nd half in cash with and 50.00 tip . I pulled on one side of the netting to slide it and the curtain fell down . He said he will fix it . I said I will be right inside , knock on door when you finish . He said he will fix the curtains and secure the gazebo to my paved patio . 45 mins went by and looked out the door Craig was gone my money and all . When I start to check around my gazebo he never fixed the curtain tracks and did the sloppiest poorest job securing my gazebo to my paved patio . I called him 20 times to only get a nasty response to me that he left it this way for a reason and everyone does it differently. He said and he refuse to listen to me argue with him. His son graduation is Monday and he get to me Tuesday . I’m so upset , disappointed, how did he run off with my money . Talk to me in a disrespectful rude manner. His drill was not strong enough for my concrete , so he was trying to beat nails in with a hammer . This was Craig first time doing this type of gazebo as it showed. I requested my tip money back and just 75.00 of what I payed him. We had to find someone else to come over to clean up what he has ruined , my patio had to be dug even bigger holes now . No response from Craig at all . Every nail Craig place was pulled up by my hand .
