I am a native French tutor with more than 15 years of experience in tutoring people of all ages, beginners, intermediate, or advanced students, and had excellent results with them all. I worked with a few tutoring agencies, Wyzant, Parliament Tutor, etc. as well as on my own. I am very patient and understanding. I can adapt easily to everyone's needs. It gives me great pleasure to help people struggling with homework, reading, writing, and test preparation and see how well they perform afterward. I enjoy working with adults as well, whether they are willing to learn a new language or practice and improve their French knowledge. You are never too young or too old to learn!

Mathilde is a wonderful French tutor! I studied French on my own for several years but made little progress. Having a skillful teacher explain the concepts in my textbook makes all the difference. She translates unfamiliar words and phrases and helps me pronounce things correctly. My weakness is understanding the different rules of grammar in French. This is very hard and frustrating for me, but Mathilde has been patient in her explanations and examples. My son gave me these lessons with Mathilde for my Christmas present and I have enjoyed studying French with her immensely!

I usually charge a fix amount per hour, discount for 2 people or more at the same time, and discount as well for a 2 hours session, or twice a week sessions.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to make them as comfortable as possible, a lot of people are a little nervous in the beginning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Journalism, and a Certificate in European Languages from Europe, Belgium. I had a lot of students of all ages, grade level, and background. I had the pleasure to teach the French language to a FBI agent as well, who had to be transferred for 2 years in a French colony in Africa.
