Pack Rat Hauling is Loudoun County's premiere junk removal, hauling and dumpster service company. Serving Loudoun County for over 9 years, we have been voted Loudoun County's Best Pick for Junk Removal by residents of Loudoun County. Most importantly we are a local business based in Purcellville with our staff being comprised of mainly firefighters and EMTs. Safety and professionalism is always at the top of our list. We are fully licensed, bonded and insured and in most cases, can offer same day service. We are here to help you take the burden off your shoulders in lifting, removing, recycling and repurposing all items. The last thing we do is send your stuff to the land fill. We take pride in being able to make sure all items that can be recycled are. Items for repurposing are donated to local non-profits. Being able to help people with making sure their stuff is removed and recycled properly really helps keep the trash and junk from over loading he land fills. We take pride in being able to separate out those items and place them where they are best suited without charging the customer more for removing their stuff. It is all included in the removal fee based on volume.

I was desperate to get rid of an upright piano and looked up this company thru thumbtack. Since I was in a hurry, I selected asap for the hauling time. I got a very prompt reply from the owner and called him right away. He gave me a soft confirmation of the time and then after confirming with his crew I got a call back. They picked up the piano that morning before noon! Was very happy to have the piano out but let me tell you... the two guys came and were very friendly and helpful. They were professional and kind. both men shook my hand and smiled, and got right to work. the truck they brought had a liftgate which I was so happy about due to the piano being so heavy!! I had questions about the company and their services and they told me they move everyone from companies to small apartments! and They try to donate unwanted items to different organizations! The employees are said to be made of mostly firemen. This company is just amazing. I will be giving out their business cards to anyone who may need a mover or hauler! 10 out of 10 pts. For them based on efficiency and customer service!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We first listen to the customer's needs usually via phone or email. We then go over our general pricing which is based on volume, or how much goes into our truck. We set up a no-obligation appointment where 2 guys come out prepared to do the job but are still on an estimate basis up until the customer says, "take it away!" This allows the customer to show us everything they wish to have removed and allows us to give a very close price estimate prior to the work beginning so we are all on the same page.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
The owner, Michael Scott started in 2008 by helping a friend of the family declutter a huge old house that she was preparing for sale. A light bulb went off and he started advertising in small local newspapers with immediate results.
