FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For small parties that are rather near to where I live I generally charge $150. Walk around magic is typically $150 for the first hour followed by $100 for each hour there after. For smaller parties that are 100 miles from home I suggest $300. Magic for a larger audience and having 200 miles of travel can be $400 or more depending on whether I must spend the night.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always want to talk to the new customer by telephone, identify important parameters and restrains for the show and verify that certain routines are appropriate, and identify special requests. For a birthday party, with the client's permission, I "manifest the presence of a friendly Ghost" who does magic and wishes the birthday person (child or adult) a happy birthday. Some folks do not want this fantasy so I do something else. For younger kids I do the "Miser's Dream" but instead of find money behind their ears, I find Oreo cookies, fill a big bag and pour it into a bowl for the audience.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a magician for over twenty years while I have also completed a career as a Reach Scientist in Public Health for New York. I have PhD in Mathematics, MA in Biostatistics, and an MpH specializing in Epidemiology, I have taught at the college level for well in excess of twenty years. I have good speaking and organization skills.
