Dj Cellis

The misleading information in this review is not fully accurate. I always explain to my clients that I leave a 2 hour grace period for setup and sound checks. I was scheduled to play at 5pm and when I arrived with and hour and 20 mins left to setup I was told how soon can I set up because they were starting early. I informed the client that I was running a little late but will still have enough time to set up and get changed for the event. When I was loading up my dolly full of speakers and equipment it hit a bump in the ramp and my bungie cords gave out throwing one of my speakers in the parking lot. Her husband saw my stuff fall and helped me grab a few things while I reloaded the dolly. I then started to setup after two dolly fulls of equipment. As I’m setting up a woman came up to me saying they need to use my mic system in 10 mins cause they would like to use my speakers for the ceremony to begin. I then told them I will do the best I can and began to rush so my wireless mic was made accessible to them. By 4:15 they had begun and I was behind the scenes checking my connections and making sure everything was secure. The sad part is there was no sound checks or anything because of the prompt time they wanted to use the mic system. I was not able to check my channels for interference as I have a high end mic system that filters interference. I was given in a prior email 3 songs to play during the ceremony and 3 out of the two were correct. I had someone Que me when they were to be played. I was also only given 4 dancehall songs to play for the whole night. Most of my clients give me a long list and just telling your dj to play elevator music during the dinner doesn’t cut it if there were prior notions of certain music to play. I played over 20 song requests from family and friends of hers. As well as 2 from her daughter. I would never turn down requests because that may be a key to the type of direction to go as a dj. I had a few requests that were hard to find but no longer then a 30 second pause. I was able to find a common ground with some group dance songs but the song requests were hit or miss. Some would dance and some wouldn’t. I was told by the husband to stick to a certain artist because it was a common fav artist. I had brought a separate set of clothes to change into after sweating my printed dj Cellis attire out setting up because it was 99 degrees outside this particular night. Rushing to set up and having only a one man bathroom of which someone always occupied didn’t help. I feel any dj could have showed up and gotten a bad review from this client. I’m sorry to this client if she didn’t feel I was of quality. This was one of dozens of events I have done. If I said it once I’ll say it again “ thankyou for your service”. I will continue to rock parties and some people you just can’t satisfy. Each party I take serious and there is a lot of behind the scenes preparations that are done to make sure these events are a success.
