My kids 5 and 7 year old are doing online lessons with Magnus Chess Academy and they love it. Coaches keep the kids engaged throughout the lesson and game time. I am seeing great improvement in my kid's games.

Magnus Chess Academy is an outstanding chess program for kids. Kids learn through comprehensive weekly virtual small group lessons, weekly bonus lessons and weekly virtual tournaments. Virtual lessons and tournaments make it easy to participate and play with other kids of a similar ability anytime, anywhere. We love the program. Our son started chess during the pandemic; in less than 2 years he was playing with the top ranking kids his age. This program kept our son busy and occupied during the school shutdown, and he has continued to enjoy playing chess to challenge himself.

My kid has been attending Magnus chess academy since Kindergarten. The coaches are amazing. My kid started classes with no clue about the basic rules and has learnt enough now to participate in state level tournaments. The academy has a weekly grand prix tournament where kids get to play against other kids at their level. They have small group lessons that we can schedule based on our needs and skill level. There is an online class every weekday that is free to all club members. They also have occasional beat the coach challenges. The most exciting part is visits from grand masters like Magnus Carlsen and Judith Polgar - kids get to interact with these great players and even play in simuls with them sometimes. It is a great chess academy that fits all skill levels!!

I initially joined Magnus Chess Academy on a trial basis for my nine year-old son, who loves playing chess, both online and in person. I have been very, very happy with this service, and have continued my monthly subscription for five reasons: > My son LOVES these classes. He has fun during the classes with the instructors (who are very fun) and the other students. When he is in one of the classes on the computer, I hear him laughing and being very engaged with the class. > My son is learning a great deal. So, not only is he having fun, but he is learning and advancing his skills during these classes. > As a parent, I really love the flexibility in terms of weekly class scheduling. Like everyone, my son, and my family, have busy schedules and cannot always make the same time each week. Magnus Chess Academy allows a great deal of flexibility. > The Academy is very responsiveness to emails, getting back to me quickly to answer any questions I have. > Finally, I like the value... The pricing is reasonable for weekly classes that are generally small, so there is a lot of attention paid to each student. This is a good value, especially when compared with the cost of private lessons. I will be sticking with Magnus Chess Academy, and encourage anyone to try it out!

My daughter has been a member since early on in the pandemic. I've always been impressed at how passionate the organizers and teachers are at Magnus Chess Academy. They put together a really well thought out set of materials, and do a terrific job with interactive lessons. My 8yo loves it and it has been a terrific springboard for helping her feel comfortable with in-person games as well. Strongly recommended!!!
