A proven process:
On Day 1, we grind your floor with an industrial diamond grinder to open up the pores in your concrete, so your epoxy basecoat can bond with the surface. Grinding, and doing so to the correct specifications, is the only way to ensure adhesion. The “acid etching” used by some providers does not work.
Our grinders are hooked up to an industrial vacuum system with Hepa filters, to minimize the amount of dust generated in the process.
We squeegee on your epoxy basecoat, tinted to match your flake selection, with a special notched squeegee to ensure we get just the right amount of material on the floor.
We backroll the basecoat to strike out any squeegee marks and eliminate any pooling, leaving the basecoat smooth as glass
We broadcast your selected flake blend “to rejection”, meaning that we distribute more flakes than what your basecoat can absorb.
On Day 2, we scrape off your excess flakes and vacuum up any remaining dust.
We follow the same squeegee/backroll process with the clear polyaspartic topcoat as with the epoxy basecoat for a beautiful, even finish. We use a polyaspartic topcoat rather than a clear epoxy, because epoxy will yellow over time and doesn’t wear as well.
