Hi! I'm Sara G., a freelance makeup and hair artist based in Ashburn, VA that also travels within the Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland area. For larger bookings I have qualified assistants to ensure all services are completed on time. I have several years of experience doing makeup and often take workshops and classes with other well known artists to fine tune my skills and learn what others are doing in the industry. I have a great passion for makeup and working with others to make them feel beautiful. I work with all skin types and cultural backgrounds. Sara was great for my wedding. She is very responsive, punctual, and accommodating. She did the hair and makeup for five people in my wedding party including myself. It was a very hot day in the lows 100 F; however, my makeup was impeccable throughout the night. She stayed until the family pictures were done and gave me a touch up before the ceremony. I would highly recommend her. Sara and her assistant did an excellent job.

I don't normally wear a lot of make-up and where I have had people do my make-up I felt over done and I didn't feel like myself. So this was a concern for me. I felt comfortable telling Sara this as she assured me her goal is to make sure I was still me and yet at the same time look the best for my wedding day. Sara, mission, accomplished!! Sara did a wonderful job in making me over or as she would say, glamming me up. Every person that I showed my wedding photos to has commented how the make-up looks so great, who did that!! It was Sara! Sara, was kind, punctual, understanding and easy to work with and she knew exactly what I needed and she eased my concern on being over done. On my wedding day, I felt beautiful and most importantly, I felt like it was still me. Thank you, Sara for a job well done!! You are the best!!

Sara did make up and hair for my bridal party and it was amazing! My bridesmaids were impressed and so happy with their hair and makeup. Group pictures were wonderful and all the ladies looked stunning! She was punctual, professional, kind, and responsive! We really enjoyed working with her and highly recommend her!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been doing makeup for years and am self taught as well as trained. I often take classes with known makeup artists to incorporate different techniques and fine tune my skills. I recently I took a course in London with Naeem Khan academy and a local makeup artist to fine tune my skills.
