- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemistry from Ohio State University and a Masters in Chemistry from Arizona State University. As part of these degrees, I took many chemistry, biology, physics, and math courses. I was a teaching assistant for four consecutive semesters of general chemistry laboratory (two at Ohio State, two at Arizona State), which required 3-8 hours of laboratory instruction per week. I also was a teaching instructor for graduate-level chemistry and geology courses. I worked individually with students during office hours to improve their understanding of the subject matter for 1-2 hours every week. In addition to in-person instruction experience, I have also taught through online platforms such as Tutor.com, FrogTutoring, and Wyzant. While at ASU, I was a teaching assistant for an online science course, where I would address student issues via message board for 20 hours every week. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I assisted students over video conferencing software.
