Top Notch! True to the name in every sense. Words cannot describe the quality, ingenuity, honesty and professionalism that Philippe brings to his work. In just 3 months he transformed the empty shell of our basement into a contemporary, comfortable sought out living space by everyone in the family. Along the process he and his son Talon came up with creative ideas to maximize the space and find cost effective ways of doing things without compromising the quality. Will hire him again!

Details: Residential • 1,001 - 1,500 sq. ft. • No, I will not be modifying or adding living space to my basement • Yes, my basement finishing or remodeling project will require electrical or plumbing work • No existing plans, but have a good idea of what I want

We were thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail and the workmanship he provided. We had several crack and drywall repairs he did for us along with painting. The repair work was so good, you can't even tell that there was an issue. I highly recommend Philippe.

Details: Home • 8+ rooms • Walls • Trim • Window frames • 10 - 14 feet • Repainting - same color • Fair - minor holes and scratches • Homeowner or property manager • No, this is not new construction • No, I will move things out of the way myself

Top Notch Remodeling is my go-to contractor. I’ve seen them come in and do a better job, for a better price than other contractors I’ve used and since they have always been so consistent, I have entrusted them with my entire portfolio of rental properties for years. Trust is the key for me and Top Notch is always the most reliable. They’ve even given me advice on when not to move forward with a project when it would give them more business but was not in my best interest.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Creating a process for working with clients is a key component of an effective business model and crucial if you are trying to build a loyal customer base. A past client said “…there are no surprises when the project is finished. It is exactly what we expect because Philippe had continuous communication from the start to the completion of the project..." Comments like this illustrate why we have the repeat business that we do; the process eliminates confusion and misunderstandings.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been in construction for 30 years, from big commercial to residential projects. I was a foreman in charge of building the Pirates Of The Caribbean ride for Disneyland Paris, a superintendent for a large shopping mall in Al-Khobar Saudi Arabia, Worked on a few cruise-boats for companies like Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruiselines and several other projects around the world. I have made Utah my home 22 years ago.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Meet with your contractor and be prepared, ask questions. At the end of a first meeting you should have a good feeling about him causing you to think: "I can work with someone like that and feel comfortable having him in my house". A good contractor is not only good at what he does but also good in customer relations.
