Introduction
Watching my students walk through the door with smiles on their faces, excited to learn something new for the week, but most of all seeing their smiling faces when they leave my home. Another thing I love, is watching my students grow, progress into beautiful pianists and see them in turn share their love of music with others and know they are making a difference in the lives of others. Music is a wonderful gift to give to others! I have the best job in the world!

Marie is an outstanding piano teacher. She really helps you to improve your skills. When my little brother switched from another piano teacher to Marie's lessons after a couple of months, his skills rose dramatically.

Marie's piano teaching is phenomenonal! My daughter knows more about playing the piano in 6 months than I did in one year! Not only do children learn to play, but they will learn the vocabulary (ex. adagio), how to read music, get comfortable with playing in front of others; Not only recitals, but just playing in front of other kids. The only downside is Marie's cost, but you get what you pay for. I cannot recommend Marie enough.

Marie is awesome! She is very organized and does things in a way so the kids want to reach their full potential. She makes piano lessons fun and exciting. Going to Marie has made the kids so eager to learn. I am very impressed with her.

We came to Marie based on some great recommendations that all said that Marie produces great piano players. We wanted our girls to be challenged and begin a mastery of the instrument without getting "too crazy" in terms of time commitment. With our 5 and 7 year old children, she has greatly elevated their competency and confidence in their playing ability. She adjusts their workload in a way that allows them to be pushed but not overwhelmed and burnt out. They both look forward to going to lessons everyweek. Marie provides effective tools in and out of the classroom and provides a level of skill and professionalism that you don't get from "your neighbor".

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Marie for 3 years and our experience has been amazing. My daughter's self confidence is up. She now composes her own songs. She is excited to play the piano everyday. Marie is WONDERFUL with children. She's gentle and patient and has a good sense of humor. She's one of those people that really understands kids. Her methods are fun right off the bat. Kids get to learn songs right away, it's not just boring scales and repetitive exercises. She does several recitals a year and takes feedback seriously. She's a great teacher, we just love her.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a member of the Utah Music Teachers Association affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association. I attend monthly meetings, workshops, and conferences. I do a lot of studying and keeping up with the latest techniques and best materials that I can offer my students. In the Summer of 2016, I was awarded the Permanent Professional Certified Teacher of Music in Piano, granted by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) This was many years of work and service to achieve this certification.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started teaching as a teenager to my friends who were begging me to teach them to play. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I am so honored that I have students who choose me to be their teacher.
