Welcome! I'm Kristin Jensen, owner of Singing Savvy Voice Studio, with lessons offered in Salt Lake City and Murray, UT. Singing Savvy is a specialized boutique voice studio. The singers who work with me generally fall into one of two categories: 1. The middle school, high school, or adult singer who wants to build their voice in a nurturing, safe environment, with the purpose of launching into the next phase of development and training (college music/music theater major, community show, top-tier teacher, etc.). These singers have opportunities to perform in studio classes, recitals, and Broadway Revue concerts, as well as music education, acting skills, etc., according to their needs and goals. See the list below for more details. 2. Adult women who want to develop their voices as a way to gain confidence and empowerment in how they express themselves. In this specific voice work, we use a holistic approach, tailored for each woman’s needs. Singers who decide to work with me will experience several things: 1. A fun, safe, nurturing environment where you are respected and we collaborate together in your training & choice of rep. 2. An understanding of HOW to work your voice, and concrete tools to do so. 3. Training in classical, legit, mix, and belt styles, which are collectively used in nearly every type of music (MT, opera, classical, jazz, pop, folk, etc.). 4. Opportunities to perform in studio classes, recitals, and concerts. 5. General music instruction - sight reading and basic music theory as desired. 6. For singers on a serious music theater track, detailed acting instruction and tools to emotionally connect with your character, creating actions, and movement training. 7. Let-down-your-hair Karaoke nights. 8. Lesson packages designed specifically to meet each singer's needs and goals. I am a graduate of the William Esper Studio for actors in NYC, and a member of NATS, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Speak-Easy Cooperative, a confederation of collaborative independent voice teachers.
