Indigo Interior Design and Remodeling

I'm Fern. I gained experience in interior design in my role as a residential remodeling project manager. I created designs, sourced materials, hired and managed a full-time crew to help transform our vision into a reality. I primarily worked with historic homes, several that dated back to the early 1800's. These homes presented a unique design challenge. I had to restore the structural integrity and modernize the appearance, without compromising the building's historic charm. I learned the basics of both historic and modern construction, common code requirements, solutions to some tricky problems and some of the best subcontractor contacts in the industry. I also developed a more creative approach to my interior design strategy and a greater depth to my aesthetic vision that translates well to the redesign of a home of any age. I am not as experienced in furniture or decor selection, but I am willing to offer those services at a discounted rate, to be discussed at consultation depending on the breakdown of the types of work requested. With my background, I offer more to you than just a vague design board. I can work with you to help determine your aesthetic inclinations and preferences, determine a vision and then create a customized plan with awareness of limitations, opportunities, material details, etc to ensure a seamless design-to-execution experience.
