I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to help others to avoid what we have gone through. We hired Kody/Elite Epoxy to coat our brand new garage floor, trusting his claims of quality work and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, this turned out to be one of the worst decisions we’ve made for our home. The flakes were not applied fully (to rejection) as requested. The top coat began to yellow and stain easily. Not long after installation, the epoxy began to fail. The surface started, bubbling, peeling, and cracking—clear signs of poor preparation and substandard materials. This began happening within just a few months of the job being completed, which is completely unacceptable for a service that was supposed to be durable and long lasting. Kody will never answer his phone and his voicemail is always full. When he would finally reply, which was rare, he acknowledged the problem and promised multiple times that he would come out to repair the floor. Each time, I rearranged my schedule to be available—and each time, he failed to show up, offering excuse after excuse. This continued for weeks, then months. It has now been two years. After exhausting all efforts to get the floor repaired, Kody agreed to issue a refund. That promise, like the others, turned out to be completely empty. I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau in hopes of resolving the matter professionally. He ignored the complaint entirely. His claims are that he does not have the funds to pay me back—yet it’s hard to take that seriously when he’s regularly posting about vacations, trips and golf on social media (most recently to Disney). It’s clear that accountability and professionalism are not values this company holds. This situation has been frustrating, disheartening, and financially damaging. We’ve spent time, energy, and money on the project that was not only botched but handled with complete disregard for the customer. We are now in the process of pursuing legal action to recover the damages and our original investment. We have since hired a very professional and reputable company, Lifetime Coatings, who we had remove the previously failed project and properly treat the concrete and apply the product over a four day period. It has not only cost us more than double to replace the project but additionally to have them remove the failed work from Elite Epoxy. They quickly and professionally returned to repair an error, as any good company would do. Standing behind their product, unlike Kody and Elite Epoxy. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. Their work is unreliable, their promises are meaningless, and their business ethics are virtually nonexistent. No home homeowner should have to go through this kind of experience.
