I am compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with a contractor I hired through Thumbtack, with the hope of warning others to steer clear of making the same mistake. Firstly, I spent a substantial amount of $4,000, trusting that this contractor would complete the job as agreed. However, the work was left unfinished, and my attempts to resolve the issue amicably were met with nothing but excuses and unfulfilled promises. Upon digging a little deeper, I discovered a glaring red flag: the contractor does not possess a valid license. I took the initiative to call the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DoPL) only to find out his license expired two years ago. This lack of professionalism and legality is alarming, to say the least. Communication with the contractor was another significant challenge. Despite my initial approach of being super nice and understanding, it was met with poor responsiveness and a series of lies. The contractor repeatedly made excuses for not showing up to finish the job, making it very difficult to communicate and resolve the issue. Moreover, the contractor demonstrated a complete disregard for safety. He left the job site in a hazardous state, failing to close the panel. This negligence posed a major safety concern, especially since I have two 3-year-old children at home. The potential risk this could have caused is unthinkable. I strongly warn other users against hiring this contractor and suggest the platform take immediate action to unlist him. His lack of a valid license, poor communication, failure to complete the job, and disregard for safety are more than enough reasons to prevent further business with him and protect future customers from similar experiences.

Stephen and his brother are exceptional. We had an issue with our dishwasher and ended up needing the entire electrical panel replaced because of the damage it caused. They were able to diagnose the issue, replace the panel and breakers, and even fix the faulty dishwasher installation the same day. Which was right before Thanksgiving and a huge stress reliever! They were knowledgeable and efficient. They explained what was going on and gave a very fair price. I highly recommend using Stephen for any electrical repairs!
