FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer an hourly rate of $125/hr, but I also offer a variety of packages at a discounted rate. Based on what the individual animal needs and how extensive the training will best determine which package will be most helpful for that animal.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial assessment via phone call or through email is what I like to start with when working with a new client. I talk with the owner(s) and go over the animals' background, desired behaviors, undesirable behaviors, etc so I can get a better sense of what the owner and animal need. Every animal is an individual, and should be treated as such.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as a zookeeper in AZA accredited zoos for over 7 years - working with many different species including apes, monkeys, large cats, exotic birds, reptiles, and many more. I have completed Susan Friedman's Living & Learning with Animals: The Fundamental Principles and Procedures of Teaching and Learning, worked with many skilled animal trainers in various zoos, and attended an immersive animal training workshop with the great wildlife trainer, Steve Martin. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University.
