My name is Jaime Varela. I am a professional guitarist/ musician with over 29 years of professional experience. I play solo (or with my band “Jaime Varela 3rio”) a wide variety of musical genres from rock to blues and specializing in Jazz instrumental guitar, perfect for any type of event, private or corporate. Session musician working on over 18 recordings, bands and music projects in Central America and the United States. You can easily spot me playing all over Texas and in northern Florida during the summer. Guitarist at heart but also well versed in banjo, mandolin, ukulele and bass guitar.

Jaime is an excellent guitarist/musician. Soothing voice and selection of songs was exactly what I was looking for for our company reception/dinner event. Jaime received lots of great feedback for his performance. Professional, responsive and amazing quality of work. He arrived early, setup on his own and provided a great experience. Jaime was fabulous as my entertainment choice the night I proposed to my Lady. It took place at J Prime Steakhouse in northern San Antonio. The restaurant worked with me to create the perfect atmosphere for my birthday dinner, which then became my marriage proposal event. Jaime arrived early and had to wait almost an hour for us to finish dinner at our table, but he was very gracious about that. When my Lady accepted the ring, we moved to a dessert table in a private room. Jaime made his entrance and began serenading my Mexican-American girlfriend with classic bolero love songs. It was a magic moment! Jaime chose three traditional songs, playing and singing with exceptional talent and style. He was genuinely happy for us and his warmth came shining through the music. At the end, he played my special request: My Guy, by Mary Wells. I’m guessing he had never played it before, but he took the time to learn it and he performed it perfectly. My fiancée and I got up and danced…..just the three of us in a private room. Soooo romantic!! I highly recommend Jaime Varela to you as a soulful and skilled guitarist/singer. He made our engagement celebration unforgettable!!

We hired Jaime to play for my daughters birthday party. He was very professional and responded quickly. He showed up early and set up quickly. He has a great variety of music and plays very well. We had a great time, and he made my daughter's bday a night to be remembered, and our guests had an awesome time! I will definitely hire Jaime again the next time we have an event.
