FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Fine-tuning to concert pitch A-440 is $155 for annual service or $280 for biannual service. This is for pianos that are tuned regularly and have stable string tension. If it has been more that 2 years since your piano has been tuned and serviced, the pitch of your piano is likely significantly low (more than 10 cents) and I would recommend a light reconditioning service which is $400 and includes the following: 1) double pass through pitch raise- basically a full additional tuning that gets all the strings close to the proper tension before a second fine-tuning is performed. 2) internal cleaning and lubrication- will remove dust and debris from cabinet, tuning pins, key-bed (underneath keys), strings, bridges and soundboard. Also includes polishing and lubrication of key pins on which your keys pivot. 3) Resolve sticky keys or pedals- if you have a few problematic keys or problems with the pedals, we can get them working. (This excludes broken or missing parts) Additional services such as repairs, string replacements, action regulation or key leveling are assessed on a case by case basis. Tax not included in pricing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically new customers have pianos that require more reconditioning so I will ask them a few questions about their piano and answer any questions they have. I travel to the clients home and inspect their piano, perform tuning and any other scheduled work and let them know if any additional work is recommended for future visits.
