FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My first foray into Criminal Defense was in 2019 when I obtained an associate membership to the state bar, which allowed me to practice law under the supervision of more experienced attorneys. This allowed me to learn the basics of defending people of class A and B misdemeanors. After I graduated law school, I worked as an intern with the death penalty appeals division of the Federal Public Defender's office. There I improved my writing, learned a great amount of law, studied the great amount of "cheating" that goes on in this system, and even some science on mental health.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Back in high school, I was one of those types that joined the debate team. I loved it so much that I continued in college, and eventually went on to be one of the best debaters in the country. I still keep some of my old trophies. Most of my arguments focused on injustice, and I went to law school to see what I could do about that. Naturally, criminal law became the perfect fit. Since then, I have worked at some big name criminal defense law firms, had my own firm, and am now partnered with two exceptional criminal defense lawyers: Mark J. Streiff, and Jodi Liukkkonen. It's always necessary to have a team of at least two lawyers to be completely trial ready.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
All types, really. No one situation is exactly like the other, even though there are some common trends. My primary area of success has been assaultive crimes like domestic violence and sexual assault.
